Simon & Jane Hudson bought Thorney Mire Barn in 2004 after selling their very busy food-orientated Cotswolds pub earlier that year.
In 1999, the 250-year-old stone barn had been converted into two cottages. Simon & Jane embarked on an extensive refurbishment, the result of which is a large, comfortable home with luxurious accommodation designed specifically with their guests in mind.
There is no connection on the first floor and just one interconnecting door that leads in to the Dining Room. Therefore, guests enjoy a high degree of privacy, with a dedicated guest entrance directly off the parking area. This in turn leads to the Dining Room, the Garden Room (a ground floor bedroom) and the staircase that leads to the remaining two guest bedrooms.
Thorney Mire Barn opened in May 2005 and immediately had good reviews - see the visitors' book. And our consistently positive reviews on Trip Adviser. Simon & Jane are constantly adding additional features, touching up the paintwork etc. and the property was fully re-decorated inside and out in 2008.
Outside the property there is a south facing garden, around 4 acres of woodland and a paddock. We are slowly creating our version of the good life by growing vegetables and keeping chickens. We plan to keep a few ducks, sheep and pigs, too.
