The garden is south facing and is bordered by farm land. There are two patio areas, that between them benefit from the sunshine all day long. Both patios have hard wood furniture including reclining steamer chairs and gazebos to offer shade.

There are decorative borders but the main central area is given over to raised beds for growing vegetables and fruit.
All guests can easily access the main garden and the Garden Room has its own private screened patio with a gate into the main garden.
The woods are directly opposite the front door and have several paths that lead along to our paddock or down to the river (Widdale Beck) that has native crayfish, trout and grayling. The woods are home to red squirrels and roe deer can often be seen sleeping in the dappled shade. Other wildlife includes: tawny owls; merlin; kestrel; woodpeckers; and several game birds. We have several books for identifying birds, animals, plants and trees, so take them with you in to the woods and see what else can be spotted.
The woods are also home to our chickens, so you can take a stroll and collect your own eggs for breakfast.

Please see below for our Access Statement
When we refurbished the property in 2005 we endeavoured to include as many 'disability friendly' features as possible in to the ground floor bedroom.
There is level access to the bedroom via the French windows from where the room's main lights can be switched. Alternatively, there are three steps to the main entrance with a semi circular, cambered ramp (pictured right). Please contact us if you would like to discuss the current access arrangements.
The main features we have been able to address are:
We have been constrained by the position of doors and the following door widths have been achieved:
If you are disabled or have special requirements please discuss these with us when you book so that we can do everything in our power to make your stay as easy and comfortable as possible. Do please contact us if you have any questions.
