We believe in giving our guests the opportunity to taste and enjoy the very best that the region can provide. Therefore, we prepare all of our food from fresh ingredients sourced from local suppliers and producers. We use a small band of dedicated producers, many of whom have won regional and national awards for their produce. You can see details of some of our suppliers here.
We have an extensive breakfast menu, that features award-winning black pudding and haggis, locally cured bacon and homemade bread and preserves. The eggs are from our own chickens.
For lunch we can prepare a packed lunch to fit in your rucksack or a more elaborate picnic in a hamper.
Finally, we can serve you supper in the comfort of your bedroom. Ideal after a long drive, or when relaxing after a strenuous walk. The suppers usually comprise of 3 courses, and of course everything is home-made and freshly prepared.
We are fully able to cater for vegetarians, vegans and those with special dietary needs.

Fruit drink or a hot drink in your own flask
The cost for this is £6.00 per person and is best organised before you arrive so that we have had the time to bake.
The full picnic is a much more elaborate affair and needs a little time to prepare, so please discuss this with us when you book. Typically the cost would be £10 to £20 per person depending upon your selections.
We serve the supper in your room, where you can relax in your dressing gown, and enjoy a glass of your own wine. There are wine glasses and a cork screw in each room.
We do need to know at least 48 hours before your arrival if you would like supper on your first night and then at breakfast on subsequent days. As with all our food it is freshly prepared and we do need a little time to source the ingredients and prepare the dishes.
We do not have a set menu for the suppers. When they are booked we will ask you for any likes or dislikes and prepare something tasty for you to enjoy.
Light Canapés or a home-made Soup
A Main Course using local meat
A freshly made Dessert
There are a selection of photographs in the slide show showing recent suppers
The suppers are £16.50 per person
For parties that have booked more than one room we would normally serve the supper in the dining room. There would be an additional cost of £2.50 per person for this. We would also be happy to offer a more elaborate meal for a group booking. Please call us to discuss your requirements.
This page will soon contain a list of some of our suppliers, with links to their own web sites when available, for more information about their excellent produce.
